Health, Wealth and Time
The resources are finite. Your capacity to experience them isn't.
The intricate balance of a fulfilling life.
(Inspired by Bill Perkins.)
Health, wealth and time are extraordinary resources. In fact, they're the only things that are truly finite. They deserve our care, our stewardship and our attention.
Yet perhaps the greatest investment begins somewhere else. Somewhere far away from the spreadsheet, the calendar and the routine.
It begins with a few beautiful oxymorons (I do love that word), which I'm slowly learning to understand.
My life is only ever a reflection of how I feel.
I've never been more capable than I am right now of meeting exactly what is in front of me.
I already am everything I need.
Perhaps health, wealth and time don't create a fulfilling life. They simply amplify the quality of the life I'm already living.
You don't stand in front of a mirror expecting it to smile first.
You smile.
Then the reflection changes.
So perhaps our greatest investment isn't in perfecting our circumstances, but in learning to feel good. To honour our unique, beautiful essence.
From that place, something quietly changes.
Choices become clearer.
Relationships deepen.
Work feels lighter.
Health, wealth and time become something to steward, enjoy, gift and remember—not simply accumulate.
Life wants to express itself through your unique preferences. Own your authenticity. Choose your next step without feeling the need to justify it.
If all this sounds a little intangible, perhaps that's because it is.
We can measure our bank balance. We can measure our blood pressure. We can fill our calendars with perfectly planned days.
But none of those measurements tells us how our life feels.
That part is always an inside job.
If my clients feel good first, I suspect everything else begins to expand. Not because they'll necessarily earn more money, become healthier overnight or suddenly discover extra hours in the day, but because they experience more of what they already have.
They make wiser decisions because they're less afraid.
They notice opportunities because they're more present.
They're kinder to themselves, more generous with others and more intentional with their time.
Their circumstances may or may not change immediately.
Their experience of life does.
Because they, too, are already everything they need.
And today they have never been more capable than they are right now.
Experiences appreciate.
Things depreciate.
You, my dear, are the one who gives value to them both.
So grow the good feeling of being you.
Honour your uniqueness.
Honour your health.
Honour your wealth.
Honour your time.
They are all precious.
But only one of them gets to experience the others.
And that one is you.
